At our organization, the Senior Tech role is rewarded with a compensation range of $25-$27 per hour, along with a $1.50 shift differential.
Work Hours: The time slot for this task is from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, during the second shift
As a Facilities Maintenance Senior Technician, it is your responsibility to work alongside other service technicians to accurately identify and solve equipment problems. You will also validate the quality of work performed by outside specialty contractors and collaborate with building leaders to optimize the handling of materials. Additionally, meeting aggressive timelines is a crucial aspect of this role.

Essential Job Functions:
- It is your job to handle the upkeep and repair of various electrical and mechanical components associated with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on the site, such as conveyor networks, sortation methods, robotics, or Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
- Alter the settings of scanning devices, video recorders, field networks, weighing mechanisms, and label applicators
- Overhaul, restore, or change adjustable mechanisms such as belts, chains, and cables and worn-out parts including guides, bearings, and pulleys
- The cleanliness of equipment is essential for preventing dust and dirt buildup, which can affect its functioning and lifespan. Regular cleaning can extend the life of the equipment
- Implement suitable task descriptions, protocols, and guides
- Take measures to rectify any issues that may arise with the functioning of motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, encoders, etc.
- Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) are often used in industrial settings to control machinery and automate processes. Troubleshooting PLCs involves identifying and resolving issues with the programming or hardware of the system
- Carry out routine service and address basic malfunctions on various kinds of mechanized robots
- Employ handheld devices and a system for managing assets to initiate and conclude Work Orders that include the correct data, such as labor hours, downtime, issues encountered, their underlying causes, the solutions applied, as well as the parts used
- Building cordial connections at every organizational level is important for a sustained positive working atmosphere
- Safety measures are a must while maintaining equipment, and this includes following the right procedure and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). To eliminate any possible safety hazards associated with the equipment, it is necessary to maintain a safe work environment
- Broadens understanding of the diverse technology platforms used in the Distribution Center.
- Ensures a tidy work setting and advocates for the safety of the team in the Maintenance department.
- Communicate effectively with individuals or groups through writing or speaking (e.g., customers, vendors, peers) to reduce equipment downtime.
- Utilize powered equipment and machinery to transport goods and materials efficiently.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
Proficiency in handling a desktop or laptop and operating apps on a portable device
Well-versed in deciphering diagrams, symbols and electrical measurement

- Prospective candidates must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent degree, which is a GED
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an academic program at either a vocational or college level with an emphasis on mechanical or electrical studies
- We are looking for candidates who have either served an apprenticeship of two years or more in the field of mechanical or electrical work or have gained equivalent experience
- Having worked with various types of conveyor systems in different industries, I have developed a deep understanding of how they function and how to control them efficiently
- Having worked extensively with Material Handling Equipment, I understand firsthand the importance of adhering to safety standards in order to prevent accidents and injuries
- The achievement of the MSSC.gov Certified Logistic Technician Certification is an indication of a person's expertise in logistics
