Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare, complete, and adorn cakes, tarts, bakery items, and pastries made to order.
- Meet business demand by constructing, frosting, and embellishing bakery items in adherence to standardized procedures.
- Determine the order of production and suggest modifications if necessary.
- Present the items and feature them in the sales exhibit to fulfill and entice shoppers. Supervise the caliber of the products to maintain their freshness and ensure the appropriate rotation of components in the showcase, following standard guidelines.
- As an assistant, it is important to provide guidance and assistance to Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other team members. This support will help them to learn and grow in their role, ultimately leading to a successful career.
- Craft bespoke cake designs tailored to individual customer requests for a truly unique dessert experience.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by swiftly and efficiently catering to the needs of customers, showcasing suggestive selling tactics, and ensuring prompt and courteous response to phone calls and pages.
- Uphold or guarantee the upkeep of a spotless and hygienic workspace and shopping area; follow Whole Foods Market's cleanliness and safety regulations to preserve equipment.
- Opening, mid, and closing tasks must be completed as given, guaranteeing the correctness of the labels and costs.

Skill Requirements:
- Proficient in cake and pastry decoration, with expertise in intermediate-level piping techniques and aptitude for designing elegant floral arrangements and borders.
- To effectively blend buttercream colors and create cohesive palettes, it is essential to have a solid understanding of color theory.
- Proficiency in the correct utilization of all types of frosting including Swiss Buttercream, American Buttercream, Ganache, Cream Cheese Icing, Whipped Cream, Chantilly, German Chocolate Icing, Fudge Icing, and numerous kinds of Meringue, is an important skill for a pastry chef to possess.
- The capability to adhere to recipes, instructions, and processes, combined with productive time-management and organization abilities.
- Enhanced methods for managing knives, equipment, and tools with safety precautions.
- The ability to convert between different units of measurement is essential when modifying a recipe. For instance, you may need to know how many cups are in a quart when you want to halve or double a recipe.
- A cooperative mindset and adept communication abilities are essential for successful teamwork.
- A skillful delivery of information in a clear and respectful manner to colleagues, patrons, and suppliers is paramount.

Experience:
- At least half a year to a year experience in retail or restaurant industry required.
- Successfully finish the Bakery Decorator Apprentice course or acquire corresponding work experience.
- It is desirable to have previous work experience in a bakery or grocery store.
